INFO ON HOW RECYCLING GETS SORTED
All the material that is placed in your Blue recycle cart is put on a conveyor belt and sorted out BY HAND from what is recyclable and what is non-recyclable. This non-recyclable material can be as much as 10% of the total weight that is contained in the blue cart. The non-recyclable material can also contaminate other recycling, causing that recycling to be discarded (ENDING UP IN THE LANDFILL) instead of being recycled.
Please place all recyclable material LOOSE in the blue recycle cart. The only exception is shredded paper. PLEASE PLACE SHREDDED PAPER IN A CLEAR TIED PLASTIC BAG.
Out of respect for the health and safety of the workers that have to hand sort this material, we ask you to please only put items that are allowed in your blue recycle cart. Please look over the single stream guidelines on the reverse side.
